IIBC supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international objectives outlined in the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015. These goals span from 2016 to 2030 and consist of 17 goals and 169 targets aimed at achieving a sustainable world, pledging to “leave no one behind.”

The Institute for International Business Communication (IIBC) supports the SDGs and engages in various initiatives directed for test-takers, society, employees, and the global environment.

We are working to ensure that more people can take our test programs.
We are working on recycling test materials for the TOEIC Program.
We participate in activities to fight against poverty among children and provide support to high school students.
We are committed to supporting the personal growth of employees, promoting women's activities, and promoting compliance.

Through the TOEIC® Program

Priority Support (Aid for the disabilities)

IIBC has established a dedicated contact point for individuals requiring special accommodations due to disabilities or health reasons, striving to provide testing environments that meet their needs as much as possible.

Multilingual Test Information Materials

In the TOEIC Listening & Reading public tests, information sheets detailing test-day instructions are available in English, Chinese, and Korean.

Promotion of Paperless Operations

IIBC promotes paperless practices by issuing digital official score certificates for the TOEIC Program, digitizing documents in compliance with the Electronic Bookkeeping Act, and utilizing digital tools. In addition, for the TOEIC Bridge Listening & Reading Tests, IIBC is also working to eliminate paper test admission slips.

Community Engagement

Support for “Tobitate! Study Abroad Initiative”

Since 2013, IIBC has been contributing to the "Tobitate! Study Abroad JAPAN" initiative, a public-private partnership launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), through the provision of donations and the dispatch of staff as selection committee members.

Hosting Contests for High School and University Students

We organize the "Essay Contest" for high school students and the "Speech Contest" for university students.
Through participation, students have the opportunity to engage with diverse cultures and values, fostering a deeper appreciation for mutual understanding.
These contests also aim to enhance motivation and provide practical opportunities for students to improve their English skills.

Participating in the “Book Baton Project”

Employees donate books they have finished reading to support the activities of an international NGO dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through children’s education.

Hosting ETS Co-sponsored Webinars

For educators and other professionals interested in language proficiency assessment, IIBC hosts webinars co-sponsored by ETS to deepen understanding of assessment quality, including validity, reliability, and fairness. Through presentations and Q&A sessions led by domestic and international experts., these webinars help participants enhance their understanding of how to select appropriate assessments and how to interpret and use test results effectively, providing practical insights that support teaching and evaluation.
